Paws: Setting Up Classes and Adding Students

May 4, 2006

You will probably want to print these directions out because Paws does not allow for minimizing the program such that you can toggle back and forth between the program and these directions

Adding your Class

  1. Access Paws management (two possible ways)

·        Use red Paws management icon in teacher NAL window

·        From the Paws program, the billboard window, use the special hot keys

  1. Click Manage Students and Classes (there is a bit of a delay before the next window appears)
  2. If you do not see your name in the list of classes (notice there is a scroll arrow beside the classes list), click Add, type in the name of your class, and then click the OK button
  3. Click the Done, and Exit buttons (unless you are going to add students at this point)

Adding Students to your class

1.       Launch Paws Management

2.     Click Manage Students and Classes

3.     Select your class (the one you made in the steps above)

4.     Click on the bottom button, Edit Class Members

5.     In the window that open click on Add to add students

6.     Continue adding students until everyone in your class has been entered

Now when student launch Paws, they should see your Class listed, and when they click on your class they should see their name
