Zipping and
Unzipping Files Directions:
Zipping is combining several
files into one so that it is easier to email it; it also compressed the size of
the combined files to lighten the email.
These directions are for use
with Windows XP operating system.
- Navigate to folder that has all of the files you
want enclosed or combined into one file
- Right click on that folder and choose Send to
and then Compressed (Zipped) Folder
- Another folder with the same name will appear,
but it will have a zipper on it
- You can now email this entire folder with all of
its contents as one attachment
- When the zipped file is received in email, you
should right-click on the attachment icon and choose Save As. Save the
zipped folder into a folder/location of your choice
- Finally, right click on the zipped folder (that
you saved to a location on your computer) and choose Extract all
- A wizard will open; merely click Next, Next, and
Finish
