How to Set the Size of the Icons or Folders on
Your Windows Desktop

Are you finding it harder to see clearly the folders on your desktop?
Would you like to make those folders and the text beneath them large enough for
you to read them clearly? You can; follow the directions below:
1. Right click on desktop and choose Properties
2. Click on the Appearance tab at the top of the window
3. Windows XP users should click on the Advanced
button
4. Toward the bottom of the window is Item rectangle with the word “Desktop”
in it and a drop down menu
5. Click on the drop down menu and choose “icon” from the list
6. The number to the right of the icon box is the size of the icon; to
increase the size of the folders or other icons on the desktop, make this
number larger
7. Below the Item rectangle is the Font rectangle
8. To enlarge the size of the font beneath the desktop folder, increase this
font size
9. Click the Apply button in the bottom right corner of the window
10. Click OK in the next window
11. You should see the size of your icons and font change
