Map Scanner Helps – Troubleshooting Steps

 

  1. Change ink cartridges. When these scanners were purchased, during the initial training, the vendor stated that 90% of problems that arose were related to the ink cartridges.

 

  1. Clean the print heads: Raise the metal bar that runs perpendicular to the machine and locate the glass strip on the underside. Use a mild soapy solution to dampen a cloth rag and wipe the glass off. Do not use tissue or a paper towel.

 

  1. Calibrate the machine. A packet of calibrations sheets come with the scanner. These must be located and run through the machine. There are four identical sheets and then one that reads/indicates it goes on top. (if you cannot find these sheets you may be able to borrow some from another school).

 

  1. Call the toll free tech support phone number located on the scanner itself. They will request the serial number for the scanner and then walk you through several troubleshooting steps.
