MESSAGE for Principals, Tech Coordinators, and Teachers at the schools I support,
(Eagle Ridge, Mathews, Midland Academy, Waddell, and Shaw)
This note is posted to remind you I am anxious to lend a hand to you and your
teachers, helping with technology needs. My primary function is to advise and
support your teachers as they try to integrate technology into the classroom
curriculum. Of course such a task is much easier said than done, so I want the
teachers at your school to know they can call on me for help. If they are
willing to tackle the large task of using the computer to teach the curriculum,
the county and my department want them to know I am available to help them. I
can and will share ideas, suggest strategies, present training with various
software packages, listen to questions, do troubleshooting, and generally be
present to help them. I am also available to teach customized, on site, staff
development classes with many software packages. The emphasis in these classes
is integration.
Below is a list of some of the software packages for which
customized training is available: (an * indicates district purchases)

Please remember that the primary contact person within
your school building is your Technology Coordinator (usually the Media
Specialist). However, it is my purpose with this posting to be sure
teachers are aware that MCSD is providing district level help too. My
name is Tony Mitchell and I work for the MCSD Instructional Technology
Department; teachers may contact by email at
tmitchell@mcsdga.net (Be sure to include "MCSD teacher" in the subject
box). I will come to your school, to your classroom, and try to help
you. That is my job. Use me.
Please be patient when you do contact me. Hopefully I will be able to
respond immediately to your need. However, because I am also the ITS
for several other schools, approximately 130 teachers, I may have to
make an appointment. But I will at least contact you as quickly as
possible.
Let's work together to make the best educational county in Georgia.
