Viewing Your Outlook Properly

Version 2003 Tony Mitchell

How you view your Outlook window is very much a matter of preference, but the following directions may help you control what you see and allow you to change the view to something you find comfortable. Below are the directions for viewing Outlook the way I prefer:

·        From the View menu make sure a check is beside only Navigation and Status

·        Go back to the View menu, choose Reading Pane, and then Off (if you do not want a preview window, off is your choice; however if you prefer to have a preview pane that shows the content of the message as you click it in the top window, you can choose to have this preview at the bottom or to the right of the message)

·        Now as you click on a folder from the left (Folder list) pane, the messages in that folder appear in the right pane

·        Go back to the View menu, down to Arrange By and take the check off of Show in Groups

·        Go back to View menu, down to Arrange By, over to Current View, and put a check next to Message with Autopreview (this seems to be the opposite of what I want, but it then makes my message appear without a preview, the way I like it)
